(Editor’s Note: It is hard for me to wrap my mind around the level of hubris being exhibited by the .gov types from DC on down regarding so-called “gun rights.” Think about it. Just how many people exist in America that are rifle-toters that would willingly pull the trigger when their firearm is pointed at a civilian? Combining military and Law Enforcement Officers, could the number be as high as 1 million? I strongly doubt it. Remember, most of the personnel in military and law enforcement organizations are administrative pukes. Most do not carry a firearm. Then consider the numbers of LEO and military that would refuse to attack Americans or the people living in a state that seceded from the Union. Then subtract the big number of military and LEO that would defect to the other side. Then subtract the number who would try to stop the bad guys from shooting civilians by shooting the bad guys first. So what is the actual number? The bad guy managers will hate waking up each morning to count the numbers of bad guys that quit or went AWOL overnight.
Then consider the size of the USA. Even if there were a million bad guys, there are 3,794,000 square miles in the USA. One bad guy for every 3.794 square miles. Of course this is simplistic, but not without merit. And I understand that the Bolsheviks controlled the USSR for 70 years, so I know it can happen. But can DC disarm America? I do not believe it is possible.
Back to the hubris. How do these people think they are going to control 310 million people that own 300 million guns? Guerrilla warfare will carry the day. The IED in America will be far more effective than the IEDs of Afghanistan. America is awash in folks with hunting rifles that can easily reach out 300-800 yards and beyond. Hunting rifles are sniper rifles when a human is in the sights.
The only chance the bad guys have to control America is to isolate the patriots and pick them off, then publicize the murders in an attempt to intimidate the remaining patriots.

You’re preaching to the choir here. Nevertheless I do need to be often reminded of that which I believe.
Calculations of which government entities and persons capable of firing upon citizens would be incomplete without considering the addition of a number of convicted felons into Homeland Security and Blackwater units. These are literal American equivalents of the German SS and brown shirt organizations of the 1930′s and 40′s.

I had not factored in mercs and Homeland Security. I think that the DHS dregs are a wild card, but mercs will shoot at anybody their employer tells them to shoot. We still have the geographic factor of not many enemy combatants and millions of square miles. Still, this conversations can only point to one thing…SECESSION. Thanks, Russ
